I'm stuck - There are too many choices

I'm stuck - There are too many choices

Hello friend,

I’m publishing this on Tuesday morning. The day before, (the day I’m writing this), it’s been a chaos in my mind.

Let me try to describe it a bit:

A couple of days ago I started reorganizing my newsletters, the topics I cover and how I want everything to be structured. I started with a structure, with some content pillars, some broad categories I want to follow.

Yesterday, I started thinking about writing a newsletter (the one you’re reading right now).

“In which category should I put it?” That was the question.

“Maybe I should revise the categories once more”, I thought.

I started a conversation with Claude. He pointed out some things, I responded with some other things. I’m not pleased.

Somehow I turned back where it all started.

I know why I write the newsletter, but I don’t know who I address to. Because talking to everyone means you talk to nobody.

So after Claude, I started checking other newsletters, and what other indie makers do. I tried to understand their content, how they organize their newsletters, and why other people follow them.

This doesn’t sense to me. I’m an idiot, I have no marketing or newsletter skills. Zero!

Then, I got back to my one and only companion: YouTube. I started watching so many videos on personal branding. Then I started listening to podcasts, then binge watched other videos, and so on.

Do you think I got my answer? No! I’m actually more confused now.

I think I should ask someone for help, but no one actually knows the answer to my problem.

Then what should I do?

All of a sudden it clicked. The perspective I had was wrong. The “ask ChatGPT”, or the previous “search on Google” is the default behaviour nowadays.

But not every answer is on Google or ChatGPT.

What’s missing?

Trial and error.

If you should take one idea only from this newsletter, it should be this:

When you don't find the answer to a question, when there are too many choices, simply try something. Otherwise, you'll be stuck like I was.

Risk it, and fix it!

What’s next

As I was saying, I’m still reorganizing my newsletter and the content I post, so this post will be a shorter one.

In the mean time, you can check these apps I’ve been working on:

Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope it’s been inspirational!

See you soon!
